 is a comedy/drama about a young man with relationship woes who crosses paths with an aspiring actress who can’t get her act together. Their encounter will force them to confront their problems head on, and perhaps gain some understanding of what lies ahead.

PLAYWRIGHT:

smithnathanheadshotNathan Smith is a first year MFA student at UBC Creative Writing. He is a graduate of the UBC Creative Writing BFA program in 2013, and previously participated in Brave New Play Rites 2012. He is looking forward to seeing the wonderful plays that will be produced this season.

 


DIRECTOR:

fysh-blueCaitlin Fysh is a new resident to Vancouver looking forward to directing at this year’s festival. Also working as an actor, she has most recently been seen in Theatre NorthWest’s Alice in Wonderland, Untitled 2 for Railtown Lab’s Untitled Series, and Right Hand Man performed at UBC for the Right Hand Man Collective. She is a graduate of George Brown College’s Acting Program and holds a BFA (Honours) from York University in Theatre Production & Design.

 

CAST:

brianlui_web2Brian Lui (Theo) is a Vancouver-born actor that has worked with some of Vancouver’s finest teachers such as Matthew Harrison, Trish Allen and Jeb Beach. Before acting, dance was one of Brian’s main passions where he trained extensively in hip-hop and went on to represent Canada at Hip Hop International in Las Vegas. This led Brian to pursue other outlets of performing arts and finding a passion for acting.
313Carly Pokoradi (Emily)  is an actor/writer/director who is grateful for any opportunity to play make believe and stretch her imagination. Favourite credits include Hansel & Gretel: An East Van Panto (ensemble), the premieres of Retail: The Musical and The Train Carr (playwright) and the collaboratively created MOUTH. Look for her this spring in The Canada Show: The Complete History of Canada in One Hour at the Vancouver Children’s Festival. Carly is a graduate of Studio 58.
