Description: This is the story of two women on a dinner date. Appetites run high, secrets are revealed and lives are changed…and all before dessert.

Playwright: Sarah Higgins
Sarah  is in her first year of her MFA in Creative Writing, and is revelling in the opportunity to spend two years writing. Armed with her BA from the University of King’s College, she has most recently worked as Membership and Communications Coordinator at the Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre (PARC) in New Brunswick. She spent a year volunteering in Ireland, meant to visit friends in Yellowknife for a week but stayed for four months and travelled around the Maritimes collecting old theatre scripts for the PARC library. She’s had several plays produced, including one set on a city bus in Fredericton, and is grateful for the opportunities to develop her theatrical voice through PARC, NotaBle Acts and other organizations.

Director: Jessica Borthwick

Jess Borthwick is thrilled to be participating in the Brave New Play Rites festival for her second year in a row, this time from the director’s chair. Recent credits include Weightless by the North Shore Zone of Theatre BC 2013 Festival of Plays; Video, What If I Did?, and Location, Location in last year’s BNP festival, and Aether Avenue’s The Retirement Party. She is in the fourth and final year of her BA in Theatre and English Literature. When she is not in the theatre or buried in a book, Jess can be found making tea, doing yoga, clowning, baking, and dancing (not necessarily in that order).

Actors:

Britt MacLeod – Effy

Angie Lopez – Ren
