Little Light imageDescription: The timeless tale of Peter Pan is finally coming together in full community theatre glory for Wanda—the lighting guy is prepped, the sets are at least half-painted, and even sulky April is warming up to the idea of being a spritely Peter. That is, until life goes off the rails and Wanda goes off the script, tossing Tinkerbell aside in the process. But if Tinkerbell’s light goes out, what do we have left to clap for?

Playwright: Sarah Ens
Growing up in small town Manitoba, Sarah Ens discovered quickly that sad poems and good books help warm prairie winters. Now in her final semester of the UBC BFA Creative Writing program, she has almost learned how to write her way out of the rain. Sarah is a blogger for The Canadian Mennonite, co-founder/emcee of the Outwrite BFA Reading Series, and has been published in The Garden Statuary and Fugue. She is excited to be a part of the Brave New Play Rites Festival and grateful to all involved.

Director: Jenna Newton
Jenna Newton is a theatre student in her second year of study. She is from Calgary where she first found her love of theatre through the forms her parents exposed her to as a child, and the theatre she created later in high school. Jenna hopes to peruse directing once she graduates. Her directing credits include UBC VDay’s A Memory A Monologue A Rant and A Prayer (2013), and The Vagina Monologues (2014). Her acting credits at UBC include The Price of Coffee (Woman), Our Country’s Good (Liz) and Fame (Serena).
