ONWARD & UP! is a musical comedy that follows Allison and Nick’s bland dinner date as they simultaneously wish the other person would end their relationship.

peckemily-photoEmily Peck is a BFA Creative Writing student in her fourth year at UBC. Her first play, Sugar & Spice Some & Advice won multiple awards when it was mounted at both the Langley and BC Sears Drama Festivals in 2014. A volunteer at last year’s Brave New, Emily is thrilled to return to the BNPR Festival and the experience it brings to the Vancouver theatre scene.



sarahroseheadshotSarah Rose is a director and vocal coach. Favourite credits include The Most Massive Woman Wins (Pacific Theatre/Stone’s Throw), Lascivious Something, Lost in Twine (Vancouver Fringe), The Vagina Monologues (UBC V-Day), and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Blue Egg Showcase). Upcoming, Sarah will be at the Halifax Summer Opera Festival, where she will assistant direct Albert Herring. Sarah is an alumna of the National Theater Institute (Advanced Directing) and UBC (BA).

With a childhood of theatre training and some screen credits, she is now based in Vancouver as an actor, writer, and producer. Favourite musical memories include Miss Stacy in Anne of Green Gables and Yente in Fiddler on the Roof. Megs is Series Creator of the comedy “Ask Will”, also co-starring as Elizabeth. He trained and performed in semi-professional theater, and has lead youth to create a variety of music and theatrical productions. As a musician, Matt plays many instruments and songs and raps, and performs as Giamma! As an educator Matt speaks at local and international conferences on special needs learning. Matt is excited to make his return to the stage in Onward & Up!.



Barbara Choi.jpgBarbara Choi (Pianist) a proud UBC Alumna, is thrilled to share the stage with the talented cast of Onward & Up!. Fond memories of playing flute & saxophone in the orchestral pit during her annual high school productions has most definitely fueled her love for all things musical. She enjoys performing with The Vancouver Concert Band as a Flutist and is also their Concert Coordinator! As a Pianist, she loves accompanying singers in variety shows and playing duets with her mom! By day you will find her working in the Narrowest Building in the World as an Insurance Broker. Love & thanks to her very supportive family Warren, Michael & Melody!
