teenagers-screaming-at-pop-concerts-in-the-1960s-and-1970s-15TEENYBOPPER is a dramatic monologue about Hannah, a 13-year- old girl excited to see her favourite band, Boy Outlaw, for the first time, and frustrated by the dismissive attitude of her family towards her obsession. Through the prism of the band, Hannah reveals her secret relationship with an exploitative older man.

leblanc-tess-brave-new-photo4Tess LeBlanc is in her first year at UBC’s creative writing BFA program. Her short play Dollar Queen was produced in Capilano University’s Sacred Space Festival. She’s performed at the live storytelling event Rain City Chronicles and has had short stories and poetry published in The Liar as well as in various zines. She’s very excited for her first time participating in Brave New Play Rites!
